What is IMEF?

The Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas (IMEF), A. C., founded on September 21st, 1961, is the organization that groups the highest financial executives of the most important companies in the country. Its vision is to be the leading organization to associate, develop and represent finance professionals, with an integral approach and social commitment; its mission is to promote the integral development of finance professionals, exercising leadership in all the activities it performs.

The IMEF created the Research Foundation, whose vision is to be the leading institution to promote, generate and disseminate quality research for the financial management of organizations. To achieve its objectives, the Foundation has four pillars:

I. IMEF-EY International Financial Research Prize

With the firm conviction of incentivizing the participation of researchers in the financial field, the IMEF Research Foundation instituted the National Financial Research Prize in 1984, which has been carried out successfully for thirty years.

This year, the XXXV IMEF-EY International Financial Research Prize has a price pool of MXN$500,000 plus significant additional benefits. For the academic, professional and student community, it represents an opportunity to pose challenges, investigate new scenarios and seek innovating answers in the fields of finance, business, administration, accounting and economics in Mexico, both on the macro horizon and at the business level; the bases for the award can be consulted at www.imef.org.mx.

II. FIMEF Intenational Financial Research Conference

In order to disseminate the advances of financial research in our country and contribute to the research-university-company-government connections on relevant research subjects that support the economic and social development of countries, their companies and institutions, and promote the work and exchange of experiences between researchers at a global level, the IMEF Research Foundation brought to life the IMEF Financial Research Congress. This was sponsored by the Mexican Banking Association, Mexican Stock Exchange, Mexican Association of Insurance Companies, Mexican Association of Securities Intermediaries, Mexican Pension Fund Administrator Association, Council for the Accreditation of Teaching Accounting and Administration and PwC, and the support of higher education institutions: EGADE Business School, Escuela Bancaria y Comercial, Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Mexico City and Campus Mexico State, Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Universidad del Valle de México, Universidad Iberoamericana, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Universidad Panamericana.
