Abstract

This paper has two objectives: the first is to evaluate the impact of competition on the stability of the Mexican banking sector, also seeks to assess the impact of efficiency on stability. A period spanning from 2001 to 2012 was used. To measure competition the Lerner index was estimated. In the evaluation of the efficiency were used two different measurements: Boone index and technical efficiency.
