Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the dynamics and structure of the labor sector of Mexico, and the impact of economic growth on the demand for labor by category based on Single Classification of Occupations (CUO) Mexican labor sector. Following Sydsaeter and Hammond (1995), the methodology used to determine the output elasticity of employment, which calculates the elasticity dividing the rate of employment growth between the rate of output growth. In addition, according to the results in the constructions of elasticities, we identify and classify the most dynamics occupations that are more responsive to GDP growth.
